ENR California is pleased to announce the winners of its 2024 Best Projects Excellence in Safety and Excellence in Sustainability competitions.
Recipients were selected by an independent group of AEC experts who reviewed 22 projects in the safety contest and 24 projects in the sustainability contest. The ENR California competition is split into two regions; North and South.
Judges for the 2024 Excellence in Safety contest were Matt Jones, vice president - environmental health and safety, Tutor Perini; and Alan Hayes, safety director - California, JTM Construction Group.
For the 2024 Excellence in Sustainability contest, judges were Erin McConahey, principal, Arup; and Celia Hoag, sustainability leader - Southwest, DPR Construction.
As always, to avoid conflicts of interest, judges did not score any categories in which their firms submitted entries, and abstained from scoring projects on which they had any involvement.
All winning project teams from this year's competion—as well as the Owner of the Year, Design Firm of the Year, Contractor of the Year, Specialty Contractor of the Year and Legacy Award winners – will be recognized in a pair of awards events in October.
