Fifteen new homes will soon be available for Dallas dogs.
Dallas AIA and TEXO (North TX Chapters of AGC and ABC) members are combining their skills on 15 new design/build projects here in the Dallas area.
The Bark and Build contest kicks off this Thursday, July 23, at a launch party at the Dallas SPCA's newest facility, 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, from 6-8PM. The public is welcome!
Information is available at AIA Dallas' website, https://www.aiadallas.org/v/event-detail/AIA-TEXO-Bark-Build-Kick-Off-Party/2d2/
Homes will be 5'X5'X3' with a total maximum living area of 15 SF. Plumbing, electrical (probably) and furnishing will be each buyer's responsibility.
Entries will be judged, prizes awarded, and all homes will be on display at NorthPark Mall in Dallas starting November 16.
Raffle tickets will be available for each entry and all proceeds go to the Texas SPCA.
Not sure what the cats think of this competition.
Seems like it would be a good idea for our industry to start similar programs next year around the country. The SPCA branches will certainly welcome the financial benefit. Pooches will welcome their new homes and likely sleep better, too.
