The New York Chapter of Professional Women in Construction launched its 2024-2025 scholarship program.
Applications are due on March 31 to the nonprofit organization that supports and connects career-minded women and works to promote diversity within the architecture, engineering and construction. Recipients will be notified in early May.
The PWC NY Scholarship Program will recognize six students pursuing a degree in the construction industry with a one-time $2,500 award each, to be provided directly to their college or university toward the cost of tuition. The scholarship is open to female, full-time graduate students or rising seniors in an undergraduate program in New York City at the start of the 2024 fall semester.
“There are so many opportunities for young women today in construction and related fields,” Regina Rivera, executive director of PWC NY said in a statement. “We can provide guidance and resources to help them on their way to a successful career.”
Each winner will receive a one-year complimentary membership to the PWC NY Chapter, which includes access to all committee and member-only events and will be an invited guest to PWC’s Salute to Women of Achievement celebration in September.
The PWC Scholarship Program was created in honor of Lenore Janis, the PWC founder and past president to encourage and support the next generation of women in AEC.
