Who are Texas' 2011 Top 20 Under (Age) 40 Professionals? Have a Look.
Last month we asked for your help identifying the future leaders in the A/E/C industry, and to nominate those who you believe currently excel in their careers. You responded, and our independent panel of judges have picked the winners. These individuals will be featured in the next issue of ENR Texas & Louisiana, our newest and first issue as a McGraw-Hill Construction regional publication in 2011. The magazine will be a regular edition to Engineering-News Record magazine, publishing six times a year and going to ENR subscribers in our region. We are excited about the new design, departments and project features, and think you will be, too.
Until then, we'd like to announce the winners of the "20 Under 40" feature. Each winner takes his her her place in a group that collectively represents the best young professionals you nominated. There were nearly three times as many names submitted. Sincerest congratulations are in order to the following:
- Carlo Silvestri, Wier & Associates Inc., Arlington
- Peter Narvarte, Flintco LLC, Austin
- Codi M. Newsom, Broaddus & Associates, Austin
- Anthony Gonzales, Spire Consulting Group, LLC, Austin

it is interesting that none of the 20 was a public sector employee and no compnay had more than one?
public sector employees aren't held accountable like those in the real world.
so having none on the list makes perfect sense.
"best young professional" may be explainable if only a small sample
of potential candidates was nominated.
Sample size 100 % 50 % 10 %
"Best Young
Professional"
0 37 % 61 % 90 %
1 37 % 30 % 9 %
2 18 % 8 % ----
3 6 % 1 % ------
4 1 % ----- ------
Notice that if all potential "best young candidate qualifications"
were submitted there would be a 1% chance that there would
be a firm/ number of candidates that had 4 names as winners.
If only 10% of the potential candidates qualifications were
submitted, there would be a 90% chance that no firm/number of
candidates would have any winner and just a 9% chance that
there would be 1 winner.
