ENR Texas & Louisiana has selected Houston-based Keystone Concrete Placement as its 2016 Specialty Contractor of the Year.
Keystone recorded about a $45 million increase in its regional revenue in 2015 over 2014. This gain was attributed to the fact that the firm was able to secure several large warehouse, high school and hospitals projects in the Houston area.
The company also saw an increase in its central and south Texas markets. Keystone has three offices: Houston, San Antonio and Austin. While Houston has seen a slow in business with the down energy market, Keystone is faring well due to its diversity in the education, retail and manufacturing sectors.
Keystone is the first concrete subcontractor to be recognized as Specialty Contractor of the Year in the Texas/Louisiana region.
On the safety front, Keystone recorded an EMR of 0.5 in 2015. All of Keystone’s employees are required to have a minimum 10-hour OSHA training, plus 30-hour OSHA training for any foreman.
In 2015, Keystone completed work on the $16 million 3737 Buffalo Speedway project in Houston, and broke ground on the $29 million 1600 West Loop South high raise/mixed use project in Houston. Other notable jobs in the company’s portfolio at the moment include the Kirby Collection, another high raise/mixed use job, as well as Methodist West Hospital, Montgomery High School and Daikin Warehouse.
Keystone continues to play a large role in the community with charities such as Helping a Hero, Catholic Charities, Be an Angel, SnowDrop Foundation, 100 Club, along with several others.
We’ll highlight Keystone’s many accomplishments over the past year in the December 12 issue of ENR Texas & Louisiana.
