ENR Texas & Louisiana has selected North Little Rock-based Garver as its 2020 Design Firm of the Year.
Garver saw its regional revenue grow by 25% during its centennial year of 2019 to a record high. To help keep pace, the firm hired more than 140 employees in this region alone last year, and now employs more than 600 across the five-state region, where 22 of Garver’s 34 nationwide offices are based.
Final placements on ENR Texas & Louisiana’s Top Design Firms ranking will be published in late May.
Among the largest projects awarded to Garver in 2019 were the Lake Thunderbird Water Reuse – Field Research Project for Inland Indirect Potable Reuse in Norman, Okla., and the $315 million Enid Kaw Lake Water Supply Program in Enid, Okla.
Work awarded in 2019 across Texas included the $72 million TxDOT I-20 PSE Dallas and the $70 million George Bush Intercontinental Airport Rehabilitation of Taxiways RA, RB, SA, and SB. Garver also is working on the Ports-to-Plains Feasibility Study in Austin for TxDOT.
To help celebrate its centennial year, Garver started donating both STEM kits and funding to 100 schools across its footprint in March 2019. This effort has reached an estimated 14,000 students, and more than 1,000 students were able to work alongside Garver engineers during face-to-face events. This was just a part of an almost-yearlong celebration of all the ways engineering positively impacts the communities that Garver has served for more than century.
