ENR editors selected Lendlease as the 2025 ENR New York Owner of the Year for the firm’s placemaking efforts that have resulted in affordable, inclusive, resilient and connected communities.
Lendlease will be featured in the March print issue of ENR East, the newly formed ENR region that includes New York and New Jersey.
The firm’s core capabilities in investment management, development and construction provides clients with an integrated model for the a project’s full life cycle.
Lendlease is finishing 1 Java Street in Brooklyn. The 789,000-sq-ft mixed-use complex of five buildings in the Greenpoint neighborhood will be the largest residential geothermal system installed in New York state, and possibly in the U.S, when it opens later this year.
The firm also completed Claremont Hall in 2024. The mixed-use academic and residential building situated within the campus of Union Theological Seminary in the Morningside Heights section of Manhattan is a 41-story development.
Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the project includes 165 condominiums, as well as 54,000 sq ft of classrooms, academic offices and faculty-designated apartments for the seminary. The urban infill development and adaptive reuse connect the entry facade and the preserved historic campus buildings. Lendlease also renovated the former seminary refectory into an amenity for residents that preserves the building’s double-height arched gothic windows and wooden trusses.
