Kurt Evans is ENR Texas & Louisiana's 2025 Legacy Award Winner

Kurt Evans has been named ENR Texas & Louisiana's 2025 Legacy Award honoree.
Kurt Evans joined the small team at Digital Engineering & Imaging Inc. in 1993, beginning 30-plus years of dedicated work that's grown the firm into a full-service organization of more than 50 professionals. His record of meaningful projects, community impact and industry advancement led the ENR editorial team to name him the 2025 Texas & Louisiana Legacy Award honoree.
With more than 45 years in civil and transportation engineering, Evans is a transformative leader whose technical expertise and visionary approach have made impacts across the Gulf Coast, says Fannie Marchotte-Bennett, principal and chief strategy officer for Digital Engineering & Imaging (DE).
"His leadership has been integral to DE's success in delivering complex infrastructure projects, including highway interchanges, urban roadways and large-scale disaster recovery initiatives," she says, adding that "through his mentorship and involvement, Kurt fosters a culture of community service, advancing both DE's mission and the well-being of the Gulf Coast region."
Key projects Evans has worked on include researching alternative delivery methods for the Louisiana state legislature, assisting FEMA with outreach to the state's southeastern coastal parishes, managing the city of Kenner's capital program and serving as a key leader for Parishes Against Coastal Erosion.
Outside the office, Evans is dedicated to serving his community in leadership positions with organizations like the Rotary Club of Kenner, local YMCAs, churches, schools and industry groups including the American Council of Engineering Companies of Louisiana (ACEC).
Passionate about educating the next generation of leaders, Evans is active with ACEC of Louisiana and the American Institute of Architects' Emerging Leader Institute, which focuses on developing individuals' professional and personal leadership abilities.
