ENR New England has named Cianbro Corp. as its 2023 Contractor of the Year. The Pittsfield, Maine-based firm will be featured in the July issue of ENR New England along with Top Contractor rankings, including firms from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. It will also be honored at the ENR New England Regional Best Projects Awards on Dec. 1.

With more than 4,000 employees operating in more than 40 states, Cianbro attributes its successful growth largely to “broadening our capabilities,” it says.

This has allowed the open shop, 100% employee-owned firm “to be a leader in vertical power and energy and oil and gas-related construction,” the firm says.  

Cianbro contributes to the community by donating to charities such as Make-A-Wish of Maine, Redington-Fairview General Hospital Oncology and Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter.

Through The Cianbro Institute, the firm also provides local high school students with hands-on training in skilled craft positions and networking opportunities with professionals. 

The firm ranked No. 5 on the last two ENR New England Top Contractor lists with approximately $760 million in revenue on the 2022 and 2021 rankings.
