Larry H. Miller Real Estate has been named the ENR 2025 Mountain States Owner of the Year in the Intermountain area that includes Utah, Idaho and Montana. This annual award is given to an entity that is having a big impact on the regional construction industry.
In 2021, the firm purchased undeveloped land in the master-planned community of Daybreak, located southwest of Salt Lake City in South Jordan, Utah, one of the state’s fastest-growing cities. The developer now is working on a plan that has been 20 years in the making—to create a 200-acre urban center, complete with a baseball stadium for the Salt Lake Bees, which is set to open for the 2025 season. The surrounding retail and entertainment district also is being developed, to include restaurants and a Megaplex theater, and other retail.
Salt Lake County recently announced plans to build a new Performing Arts Center a few blocks from the baseball stadium that is partially funded by a $25-million donation from the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation. Construction is expected to begin in 2026, with the center anticipated to open in 2028.
A profile of the developer will appear in the April 28 issue of ENR Mountain States & Southwest, the newly formed publication that combines coverage of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
