Reconstruction of I.M. Pei’s landmark pedestrian mall is blending modern building concepts with historic design.

PCL Construction is soon to complete the $149-million 16th Street Mall makeover project in downtown Denver, part of a $937-million spending package to elevate infrastructure across the city.

Though born in China, I.M. Pei, who died on May 16 in New York City at age 102, became one of the most dominant American architects of his time.
