Massachusetts regulators approved final permitting on Nov. 12 for the controversial Weymouth Compressor Station for the $452-million Atlantic Bridge pipeline project that would extend from New England to Canada.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Jan. 25 granted a permit for Spectra Energy’s proposed Atlantic Bridge pipeline, a $450-million project set to expand natural-gas transport from the Marcellus shale region into New England and Canada.
Strategically located in Northeast Pennsylvania—the most active area of natural gas extraction in the Marcellus Shale formation—the Williams White Compressor Station takes gas produced from well pad sites and converts it to a pressure that can be transported through a pipeline to end users in the marketplace.
