The North Capitol Building will welcome visitors to the statehouse and showcase historic artifacts.

Its monumental architecture gives the parliament complex a historical look, although the design and construction techniques, especially for the classically inspired dome, are unmistakably modern. 

Because of its sensitive location near the Prime Minister’s office, this river improvement and public greenspace project in the Ethiopian capital had to forgo typical stone blasting in favor of specialized large-scale earth blasting and excavation to remove 210,000 cu m of stone to develop key areas of the park.

The city of Thornton’s 29,000-sq-ft design-build Fire Department Administration Headquarters includes offices, conference rooms, break rooms and work areas on the second floor, along with four large pull-through apparatus bays, 10 bunk rooms, a large dayroom and kitchen space, decontamination areas, locker rooms and an indoor-outdoor fitness center on the first floor.

In 1985, Congress created the Program Manager for Chemical Demilitarization to destroy the remaining 10% of the U.S. chemical weapons stockpile. To date, chemical weapons have been eliminated at six of the eight original storage sites. 

In May 2015, U.S.-based contractor Gilbane Federal completed a sophisticated, self-sustaining 414,000-sq-ft headquarters building for the Afghanistan Ministry of Defense, in Kabul.

The Building 8 project in the Annapolis Business Park is the first in the world to meet the Dept. of Defense Medium Level Criteria for blast resistance and progressive collapse, the team says.
