USDA provides loans and grants for electricity, drinking water, wastewater projects in rural areas.

The Rural Surface Transportation Grant Program is funded by $2 billion from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

The grants went to projects in 12 states. U.S. DOT says it received applications totaling more than $10 billion, far more than the approximately $300 million it had available.

Corps, BuRec funds go for port, inland waterways, flood protection and rural projects to improve freight flow, provide climate change resilience and help disadvantaged communities.
