OnStation, a mobile app that allows road construction crews to easily locate people, assets and physical conditions, is gaining traction on projects throughout the U.S.

Contractor will jump from pilots to full deployment of a jobsite robotics platform developed with robotics startup NeXtera.

The Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development (DOTD) was already conducting a pilot project with HeadLight—a photo- and cloud-based construction inspection system—when 2020 came along with the COVID-19 pandemic and five hurricanes.

With construction errors and disputes often traced to the disconnect between the jobsite and the office, technology providers are eager to bridge that gap.
