As is the case in numerous other metropolitan areas around the country, Little Rock’s busy construction market is having to adapt to the shortage of labor to fill critical positions while navigating material scarcities, says Chris Handley.
Planning began in 2016 on this $155-million renovation, with construction kicking off in October 2019. The 133,000-sq-ft space blends contemporary design with elements of the original 1937 Art Deco structure, which will serve as an entrance to the museum.
In addition to the speedy pace, VDC, robots and pipe bursting are helping mitigate challenges on the $68.4-million, 154,800-sq-ft Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
The 5.4-mile Interstate 30 project in central Arkansas widens the highway to six lanes from four, a $187-million undertaking that’s part of the 36 projects approved by voters back in 2012.
