When crews with Kokosing Construction Co. began a $209-million design-build contract—the largest of its kind in West Virginia—in 2015, they first had to build roads in order to build the actual road called Corridor H.
With apologies to John Denver, West Virginia’s transportation network is much more than country roads. There are also interstates, secondary highways and rural connectors comprising a nearly 39,000-mile road network, 96% of which is maintained by the West Virginia Dept. of Transportation, ENR MidAtlantic’s Owner of the Year.
The West Virginia Dept. of Transportation (WVDOT) and Dept. of Highways (WVDOH) have been honored with the 2022 ENR MidAtlantic Owner of the Year Award.
