Construction jobs are still hard to fill, and experts say efforts are hampered by the stereotypical image of the construction worker and a "market failure" illustrated by differences in how union and nonunion shops approach apprenticeships.
After a month of hard work, an independent panel of AEC experts reviewed a total of 64 projects and selected 13 for Best Projects recognition and 10 Awards of Merit across 16 categories, and honored two projects with a special award in safety.
