Communication, documentation are key to project success, and knowing when to make hard choices, Honolulu and Los Angeles transportation managers told Construction Management Association of America event attendees in San Francisco.
The project delivery approach is not always the optimum one, said speakers at the Transportation Research Board forum, which focuses on sector improvement and recently concluded in Washington, D.C.
Construction will wrap at the end of September on a $35-million renovation and expansion of Second Line Stages, a film and TV production facility in the heart of New Orleans, and those involved say effective communication and collaboration played an important role in the speed of this design-build project.
