The new round of grants is much smaller than the one announced in 2023, which included a one-time infusion from the Inflation Reduction Act.

Among the awards are grants to aid 52 capital construction projects.

The largest of the grants, at $56 million, goes toward a project set to cap a section of highway running through Buffalo, N.Y.
