About six months after the Envision infrastructure project sustainability rating tool launched in 2012, Superstorm Sandy generated $68.7 billion in damage.
The Istanbul New Airport, set to be the world’s largest when finished by 2028, also may be the first infrastructure project beyond North America to gain an Envision sustainability rating from the U.S.-based Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.
The new Envision system, designed to rate infrastructure project sustainability, will incorporate one industry firm's approach to measuring "return on investment" and hopefully become a tool to better predict potential outcomes, said officials at the product's launch in Washington, D.C., on April 3.
