Coming off of a slow sales in 2016, Mack Trucks is confident that it will strengthen its position in the construction vocational truck market despite continued weakness in Class 8 truck sales. 

Mack has updated its Granite line of trucks for concrete-mixing applications.

Executives at Mack Trucks North America kicked off the first day of this year’s World of Concrete trade show with the announcement that 20% of its work trucks are now being ordered without a clutch pedal and shift lever.

Because fewer drivers these days know how to work a stick and clutch pedal—or even care to—Mack Trucks Inc. says it is now seeing a 70% penetration rate for its mDRIVE 12-speed automated manual transmission (AMT), just one year after making the gearbox standard on its Pinnacle highway semitrucks.
