Santa Ana, Calif.-based Salas O'Brien, a national facilities design and planning firm, has merged with Columbus, Ohio-based Varo Engineers, creating a combined firm with 16 offices and 460 employee-owners.

Going forward, MDG will do business as HDR | Maintenance Design Group. The firm will continue operating its Denver office.

Together, BCER and SSG will employ more than 100 people and serve over 500 clients.

The acquisition expands client-service offerings of EMCOR’s U.S. building services operations.

The acquisition allows POWER to offer expanded testing and regulatory compliance services to customers from coast to coast.
