Announced by President Joe Biden Sept. 28 at the Tempe Center for the Arts, the McCain National Library at Arizona State University will honor the life and legacy of Sen. John McCain.
The Adams Street branch is the first new library built in Brooklyn since 1983 and the first branch constructed in the DUMBO neighborhood—the result of dozens of meetings with community members aimed at providing new resources for the area and fostering civic literacy.
Inspired by the great Beaux Arts civic institutions constructed over 100 years ago, the overall intent with the Riverside Main Library was to create a civic gathering spot in a modern vocabulary that honors the diversity, resiliency and future of the region.

This $6.7-million, 18,000-sq-ft library required the project team to make extensive modifications to achieve a curved design—all while working with materials that were not intended to bend along a curve.

To support the needs of this growing community south of Tucson, the 17,000-sq-ft library includes areas for specific types of book collections; meeting rooms; a large multipurpose room that expands to the outdoor performance patio for special presentations; and the “next big thing room,” designed to accommodate future community needs.
