A four-company design-build team has been awarded a $410-million contract to design and rebuild the Routes 6-10 Interchange in Providence, the Rhode Island Dept. of Transportation announced late last year.
Two priority rail station projects are moving forward in Providence and Pawtucket/Central Falls, R.I., both with “built-in ridership in densely populated areas,” says the Rhode Island Dept. of Transportation spokesman Charles St. Martin.
After a brief slowdown, David S. Iwuc says the construction industry is “alive and well in Rhode Island” as major projects are developing or nearing completion.
