A federal judge in Florida found Skanska acted in its joint venture partners' best interest, and that Lane owes its partners about $80 million for its unpaid share of capital calls.

The design-builders lost $500 million on the reconstruction job, substantially complete last year.

Lane's claims against Skanska for breach of fiduciary duty and gross negligence still must be decided at a federal trial in Florida this fall.

The news of a fourth fatality on the I-4 Ultimate project in Orlando, Fla., is surely increasing the pressure on SGL Constructors, the Skanska-led joint venture contractor leading the $2.3-billion project.
