After talks with President Donald Trump, Foxconn Technology Group says it will build a manufacturing and fabrication facility in southern Wisconsin as promised by both Trump and the company in 2017.

The construction of Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group’s $10-billion liquid crystal display manufacturing plant along I-94 south of Milwaukee has made the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation’s plan to equip its freeway with infrastructure for connected and autonomous vehicle technology more critical. 

Foxconn Technology Group confirmed it has selected Gilbane Building Co. of Providence, R.I., and Germany’s M+W Group as the joint-venture general contractor for a $10-billion LCD screen manufacturing facility planned for Mt. Pleasant, Wis.
