Contractors in Boston broke ground on Jan. 30 at the long-anticipated, $240-million Fenway Center megadevelopment. Designed by The Architectural Team with John Moriarty & Associates managing construction, the mixed-use project includes the development of 4.5 acres along the Massachusetts Turnpike, with phase-one completion expected by early 2020. After 15 years in planning, crews early last month began site prep for phase-one construction of two buildings that will include 312 apartments, 37,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail and 200 underground parking spaces. Phase-two plans include a 12,500-sq-ft air-rights deck for a 27-story tower and a parking garage.
