Oakpointe Builders has requested amendments to the city of Covington’s comprehensive plan related to its proposed $670-million Covington Lake Pointe Urban Village mixed-use project. The builder’s plans for the development include 1,500 homes, a 20-acre lake and a 130-key hotel. An 850,000-sq-ft entertainment and lifestyle center is also planned. Fortis Construction Inc. is serving as construction manager for the estimated $196-million Madison High School modernization project for Portland Public Schools. The project entails the complete renovation of existing spaces and the construction of four new additions, including new gym facilities, art and science programs and a large commons area. The project will increase the school’s size to roughly 303,000 sq ft from 284,000 sq ft. Construction is expected to start in July, with completion planned for August 2021. Skanska USA Building will lead construction of the $135-million Mountain View High School Replacement project in Vancouver for Evergreen School District No. 114.
