A Canadian company’s “smog-eating” highway noise wall technology, aimed at trapping air pollutants emitted by vehicles, is currently being tested on highways in Toronto and the U.K. Proponents say it can reduce overall air pollution by 50%.
British Columbia announced a preferred contractor, the Acciona-Ghella Joint Venture, for its 3.5-mile, $2.1 billion Broadway Subway Project in Vancouver, B.C.
The joint venture will complete engineering work on the new $930-million U.S. Route 181/Harbor Bridge in Texas, taking over from original engineer-of-record FIGG.
