In addition to the 20 Best Project and Awards of Merit winners in various categories announced earlier this month, ENR Midwest judges are today recognizing two projects for their safety prowess.

To suggest ENR Midwest judges had a challenging task determining the Regional Best Projects for 2016 would be an understatement. 

As results from the region’s top specialty contractors began to roll in, it quickly became clear GEM Inc. deserved serious consideration as the ENR Midwest Specialty Contractor of the Year.

Every year, we here at ENR Midwest compile and share data from the region’s leading specialty contracting firms, based on activity from the previous year in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin. 

Our annual Top 20 Under 40 is published in the first ENR Midwest edition of the year, but the time to nominate a candidate for 2017 is right now.

In a typically close vote, Mortenson Construction has been named the ENR Midwest Contractor of the Year.

As construction throughout the Midwest Region continues to recover, which firms are responsible for drawing up the plans our contractor friends are champing the bit to dig into?

Every year, ENR Midwest is honored to rank the region’s largest projects that started construction during the previous calendar year. For 2015, a few projects in Minnesota are expected to join those from Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.
