By co-locating vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair facilities onto a new campus, this project combines four existing facilities into one. Located along Nakoosa Trail, the project features a strong street frontage and space for future expansion at the south end of the site.

The administration and operations portion of the building is a one-story steel frame structure enclosed with insulated metal panels, insulated precast exterior walls and colored phenolic panels, while the maintenance building section is a steel structure enclosed with insulated precast panels.

Resiliency and sustainability were among the priorities for the facility to ensure efficient operations. The project achieved LEED Gold certification following completion in May 2022. Strategic placement of tubular skylights and linear clerestories provide all regularly occupied spaces with natural light. Concrete floors in the maintenance areas also feature integral radiant hydronic heating tubes.

To supplement operational energy needs and provide direct energy for heating water, the project includes 100 kW of solar electric photovoltaic panels on the south wall of the light duty maintenance bays. An additional 200 kW of solar panels will be installed in 2023.

Other sustainable features include LED lighting systems, vehicle charging stations, insulated precast concrete exterior wall panels as well as heat recovery and air-cooling units.
