Health care service provider OhioHealth selected Gilbane Building Co. to construct a $226-million comprehensive outpatient cancer center at its administrative campus in Columbus, Ohio.
The planned 199,000-sq-ft center, which is being designed by Design Group and HKS, would nearly double the size of the campus, which is located across the street from OhioHealth’s Riverside Methodist Hospital.
The project’s scope also includes renovations to an existing building on the property and construction of a parking structure.
Construction is planned to start in the spring of 2026. OhioHealth aims to open the cancer center in the spring of 2029.
“This comprehensive cancer center will increase access for patients who are dealing with complicated and aggressive cancers,” said Praveen Dubey, OhioHealth vice president of cancer care, in a statement.
OhioHealth is separately planning an expansion of its Dublin Methodist Hospital to increase its inpatient and critical care capacity. Construction on that project is planned to start in the winter of 2026 for completion in 2030.
