When the University of Texas at Dallas wanted to consolidate its physics and space sciences departments into a single facility, it took the opportunity to build a signature gateway building to the campus.
The $16.8-million restoration of historic Weeks Hall at Texas Tech University required the project team to transform a three-story residence hall into a fresh new space on campus where students and faculty could collaborate, study and work.
A collaborative approach that included creating a centralized hub where onsite workers could access the most up-to-date project information helped ensure efficiency among trades on the $9.7-million Delgado Community College Advanced Technology Center.
With a construction schedule developed around the Endicott College’ academic calendar, detailed coordination and meticulous schedule management were critical on the $44.5-million Samuel C. Wax Academic Center.
Situated in the center of campus, the three-story, 50,000-sq-ft building houses classrooms, instructional and research labs, simulation and training rooms, collaboration and community spaces, and faculty offices.
As a first-of-its-kind, multi-use facility, the three-story, 115,000-sq-ft building provides a singular space for the university’s veteran- and military-focused programs and organizations to work, learn, gather and celebrate.
This project provides a new home for the Duke University Pratt School of Engineering’s education, research and entrepreneurship initiatives by bringing together faculty and students from various departments.
