People mover, rental car facility will decongest airport’s tight footprint and provide for future growth

A Kansas City-based engineering firm is proposing to finance, design and build a new $2.5-billion single terminal for the Missouri city’s airport, a project long sought by airport officials.

Officials at Denver International Airport and the city of Denver are completing negotiations on a $650-million-plus project to remake DIA’s terminal.

Crews broke ground April 24 on Ellington Airport’s new $12.4 million air traffic control tower.

The board overseeing plans to construct a new terminal at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport gave the official green light to a $178-million, five-gate expansion for the airport’s North Terminal project and set a new opening date of February 2019 for the entire facility. The expansion brings the overall project cost to $993 million.

The new hotel sits atop the airport’s integrated transit center, which offers direct commuter rail connectivity to downtown Denver.
